Website accessibility

The vast majority of websites fail to offer full services to users with impairments. If your brand isn’t making its online home easily available to users who have difficulty with sight and hearing, you’re not just excluding a large section of the population: you’re failing to capitalise on a market with huge potential. Freestyle web designs are created with accessibility built in, and we can conduct accessibility tests for existing sites, with recommendations for improvements.

In the majority of the UK the Equality Act 2010 sets out the the requirements websites must adhere to to ensure a basic level of accessibility.  The W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative goes further, with clear three stage guidelines.

Unfortunately, the majority of UK websites are not fully compliant with the Equality Act 2010 and are far from meeting the levels set out by the W3C.

Accessibility does not need to be complicated, expensive or overly impact on the design, but it does need to be acted on.

Please contact Freestyle to discuss our accessibility audit and how an accessible website is beneficial for your business.
